60-130 MPH ROLL ON RACING FAQs:
What is 60-130?
60-130 is a track event where cars are equipped with VBox GPS-based accelerometers that measure acceleration from 60 to 130 mph. Drivers and cars run single lane down the dragstrip and start accelerating from a roll at about 40 mph and then let out at just over 130 mph. Then the data chip in the VBox is removed and the time from 60-130 mph is measured and given to the driver.
Who can compete in 60-130 events?
Any car or driver can complete as long as they have a car that is at least a mid to low 12 second 1/4 mile car. Cars running slower than this will not be able to get to 130 mph before its time to slow down on the track.
Do I need any special equipment?
You will need a helmet. Other than that, the VBox equipment is owned by the track and the equipment is moved in and out of cars competing during the event.
How much does it cost to come to a 60-130 event?
Cost for Entry is $15 and if you want to race then the tech card is another $35 for a total cost of $50 to race. Most of the 60-130 events are held before Lonestar 1/4 mile events. So if you pay to get into the 60-130 event then there is no additional cost to stay and watch or race at the 1/4 mile event.
When are 60-130 events held?
Check the Lonestar calendare for event dates. We usually have 60-130 events once a month, usually on the weekend.
What do I win?
Bragging rights and information about your car and your driving. We dont offer prize money or trophies, but you do get the info about your run and there are some enthusiast forums where 60-130 times are posted and discussed.
Why 60-130 instead of drag racing down the 1/4 mile?
Both are great ways to have fun with your car while measuring performance. 60-130 tends to appeal to guys with faster cars who want a way to measure their performance from a rolling start versus a standing start.
